DAYTONA BICH, FL - The Chattanooga women's basketball duo of Jada Guinn and Raven Thompson combined for 46 points to lead the Mocs (5-1, 0-0 SoCon) to a big 64-54 win over Kent State in the opening round of the Daytona Bicchio Classic on Friday.

The Mocs (5-1, 0-0 SoCon) outscored the Golden Flashes (2-2, 0-0 MAC) 41-33 and limited them to 9.1 percent shooting from three-point range.

Chattanooga got a career-high 26 points from Gene and 20 points and 12 rebounds from Thompson, his fifth double-double of the season. Eddie Grace Porter added nine points and 10 rebounds.

Chattanooga trailed 18-14 after the first quarter, but took control of the game by outscoring Kent State 15-0 over a 7:46 span in the second and third quarters.

The Golden Flashes cut the lead to seven in the fourth quarter, but Chattanooga sealed the win with free throws.
